Latest announcement (25th Jan) in the MCI website

http://www.mciindia.org/circulars/Notice-vision-2015.pdf
the above announcement by the MCI, gives us another chance to give the feedback on vision-2015.
the new deadline is 7th February 2011.

Come on friends, we have another opportunity to stop the implementation of Vision-2015.
My suggestion is:

ATTACK the vision-2015 itself instead of criticising the smaller domain of Forensic Medicine in it.

  • Involve the faculty of para-clinical subjects (Pathologists, Pharmacologists, and Microbiologists) to pressurize the MCI about retaining the 18 months pattern of II MBBS; tell them that 2nd year subjects are taught for 18 months or more worldwide as against the recommendations in page 14 of the proposed UG-medical-education
  • Involve the faculty of clinical subjects (ENTOphthalmologySTD and DermatologyOrthopaedics, and Psychiatry) to pressurize the MCI about doing away with the concept of electives; Group C means an elective subject. (Refer page 13 of UG-medical-education)
  • Involve Doctors from other streams, because this vision will hamper their career prospects.
  • Involve judiciary, police, media and the public, for they know the reasons for better forensic standards in the country.

  2. our crpc take mbbs competent enough to handle medicolegal cases.if legal medicine will become elective i think a drastic change in law needed, because for law mbbs will be like lay man if he will not opt for legal medicine, as per autopsy and other medicolegal work concern.....next move of ministry of home and law may take that autopsy should be done only from forensic expert,,,,,,,,,mci governing board is not elective body so its behaving in autocratic fashion...drastic change in mci by nominated people who dont have trust of country medico is funny........mci will be now totaly commited to make mbbs and md equal to bsc and msc..as per trend best talent not coming to mbbs and if mci myopic view implemented to do bsc will be more lucrative than doin mbbs.///////noble profession on verge of extinction in india if decision for it will be taken by nominated people who has no leadership or administrative excellence.
