Govt. Medical College, Anantapur. Andhra Pradesh.

Sir,

The Forensic Medicine Teaching staff of Govt. Medical College, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh unanimously declaring that the Forensic Medicine is the vital subject, essential for the all the medical graduates, whether they are in the Govt. service or private practice.  This is the only subject which teaches the practical aspects such as responsibilities, duties of the doctors, consequences of neglegence, consumer protection act, PNDT Act and other medico-legal cases i.e. sexual offences, drunkeness etc.

This is the only subject enlightence the practical aspects of giving evidence in the Court of Law and duties of a doctor in dealing with the suspected poisoning cases, procedure of recording the dying declaration and issuing medico-legal certificates i.e. wound certificates, drunkness certificate, sexual assault certificates etc.

Without Forensic Medicine Under Graduate students and Post Graduate students will not have basic knwoledge regarding the responsibilities of doctors in relation to professional collegues, patients and public.

Hence, the faculty has to be strengthened, subject should be included in the final year portion for the undergraduates and compuslory one month rotatary internship for the internees and casualty should be under supervision of our faculty.

Thanking you sir,

Yours faithfully,
