Dr.S.Janani's comments on vision-2015

if the intentions of MCI/BOG in introducing the vision 2015 is to produce more doctors who can serve in the rural areas, then they should rather concentrate in giving rural doctors better living and working conditions and sanitation thereby attracting doctors to the rural area than reducing the duration of medical education. this could be compared to giving half cooked food to hungry people. not only is is useless, it could be all the more harmful to those who use it. producing doctors early who are not aware of the legal issues of medicine would be a threat to the population. people who get educations and qualifications in India move abroad mostly for the only intention that their working conditions are income are better. accepting the fact that medicine is a noble profession, the Government should also notice that doctors do get married and get children and supporting them and educating them is also his/her duty. thereby if at all the Government/MCI intentions are to improve the medical standards they should come forward to attract doctors to rural services with their packages than reducing the standard by itself. hence practical approach is warranted than just postulating unnecessary and unwarranted policies.

  1. The so called attempts made by MCI is full of loopholes.IN a sense its a mockery of the legal infrastructure of the nation.this is for sure that it would degrade the quality of doctors.they are just planning to create "jack of all trades but master of none".only a well trained doctor can stand with confidence in the court of law. the decision proposed by MCI is a havoc,it lacks practical approach...and at last the people will face its undesirable consequences.
