Dr.Arun's aggressive comments

  • The faculty of para-clinical subjects (Pathologists, Pharmacologists, and Microbiologists) should pressurize the MCI about retaining the 18 months pattern of II MBBS; tell them that 2nd year subjects are taught for 18 months or more worldwide as against the recommendations in page 14 of the proposed UG-medical-education
  • The faculty of clinical subjects (ENTOphthalmologySTD and DermatologyOrthopaedics, and Psychiatry) and Forensic Medicine should pressurize the MCI about doing away with the concept of electives; Are'nt these subjects important, when compared to Surgery and others. (Refer page 13 of UG-medical-education).
  • The suggestions by the working group (Vision-2015) are as foolish as those given below:
  1. If the MCi wants to produce doctors (by crash course) for rural India, it can do so by other means such as teaching SURGERY for 30 hours only (acute abdomen, wound healing are the only few things that a Basic Doctor requires!!!);
  2. Medical aspects of OBG can be taught during Medicine and Surgical aspects be taught during Surgery!;
  3. If staff is not available, Paramedics can teach some medical issues!!
