Vision 2015 is such a document which does not have the eyes to see and brains to think. Its just a document to follow western word.
It does not consider the Indians and their ways of leaving in the society. Compared to western world ours is a country with more population and more diversity and not cent percent educated. In such situation it’s not wise to blindly follow the views or practices of some developed countries.
Most of the patients are taken care of by the basic MBBS graduates. So also the maximum no of autopsies are conducted by them. If they don’t have the knowledge of basic forensic medicine, how do they conduct autopsy in a meticulous manner. If they don’t perform autopsy with the standard protocol and omit something, the cause of death changes. There by a culprit could be caught free and an innocent may be punished. In India already the conviction rate is less compared to the number of convictions in western countries.
Of course, autopsy and related legal matters come under the per view of home ministry, the teaching part of it obviously be dealt under education that is medical education.
Forensic Medicine not only involves autopsy and dead bodies, it also has the part called clinical forensic medicine and toxicology.
We would like to know that which subject of medicine deals the cases of rape and other sexual assault cases. OBG people may examine, but the legal aspects of those cases should be taken care by the forensic fraternity only. A person cannot be mastered in two subjects. The minute aspects of forensic medicine cannot be learnt by persons of other specialities in short duration of one or two months as thought by BOG officers. The super specialists will learn their subject starting from the MBBS only. There is no super speciality course, grass roots of which will not be learnt in basic medicine.
Last but the least, LET US NOT FOLLOW OTHERS BLINDLY, BUT OTHERS FOLLOW US. LET US SHOW THE WORLD THAT THE MEDICAL EDUCATION FOLLOWED IN INDIA IS FAR EXCELLENT COMPARED TO MANY OTHER COUNTRIES........
