A Pathologist's view

Dear Forensic Faculty,
I will have to agree 'in principle' regarding the comments expressed by all of you; the vision 2015 seems to be biased, inconvenient, illogical and unwarranted; i add to your views that such proposals are fit to be disposed off into the archives, without implementation.

God forbid, if forensic medicine department ceases to function, myself or any other pathologist for that matter are not ready/expertized to deal with 'forensic pathology'; i suppose, the working group knew about it and therefore not dared to comment about forensic pathology, in the proposed UG curriculum.

Most important thing is, forensic autopsies should be done by forensic medicine experts.
If forensic medicine faculty members are not available (the vision 2015 seems to kill them all), i do not think that any of my fellow pathologists will accept this burden on us.

MCI should take into account the stakeholders, before deciding on this 'major' step. Most of the pathologists do not know about this; some of them are taking it lightly; some, like me, may be sidelined by MCI, as it will be our individual suggestion (our association is silent).

Reduction in teaching hours (in pathology) is also not acceptable to many colleges; but nobody is speaking.

I pray that 'forensic medicine' remains in every medical college.
