APPEAL  TO  MEDICAL FRATERNITY

Dear friends,

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has developed a 'Vision-2015' document to reform the medical education in the country reducing the total duration of MBBS to 4 years. ‘Vision-2015’ document is available on MCI’s website and last date of online submission of feedback on this document has been extended to 7 February 2011.The feedback may be send to feedback@mciindia.org with a copy to forensicmedicine123@gmail.com

As the expert committee who has prepared this document have no representation from many departments like Physiology, Medicine, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Microbiology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, TB chest, etc. future of all these subjects is jeopardised. The disastrous consequences can be understood only when one goes through this document carefully.   

We all should oppose ‘VISION-2015’ document in its present form and request MCI to involve views of experts from all subjects to prepare ‘VISION- 2015’ document in reality.

As a mark of protest we all should wear BLACK RIBBON on Saturday, the 5th February 2011 to observe it as BLACK DAY.
