Dr. M.B. Shrigiriwar

We have recently sent a representation letter to The Union Health Secretary, Ministry of Health And Family Welfare, New Delhi insisting on the importance of restructuring the Undergraduate Forensic Medicine curriculum as per the draft prepared by Honourable Ex Chief Justice and Ex Chairman, National Human Right Commission M N Venkatachalaiah (December 2007). The letter also highlights that the Expert Panel who constituted the above draft were eminent experts from forensic field and the judiciary. On the contrary the BOGs work group has physicians and surgeons with no medicolegal work experience.
We have also included The Madras High Court verdict regarding shabby PM work done by tutors and directives given by the High Court to MCI regarding up gradation of the UG medical students Forensic Knowledge. A copy of the said Honourable M N Venkatachalaiah draft and the Madras High Court verdict are enclosed with the letter.
In a way our letter makes them aware of the incompetency of the BOG’s work group and non transparent selection of the members.
A copy of the said letter was sent to the BOG, Hon. Chief Justice of India, Chairman NHRC, New Delhi and the local MP. Kindly send similar representation to the MP of your locality and make them aware of the current situation and request them to forward the letter to the Union Government.
            Regards
P.S. if you have any authentic details regarding the private hospitals/  clinics where the BOG are currently working or their past records, kindly forward it to us along with references.
