On behalf of IAFM, I am extremly thankful to very active members who attended the said meeting at Mysore and provided the valuable inputs. All will be considered while praparing final draft and getting the inputs from whole country. Few things I would like to add this juncture to further strengthen our cause as well as ground realities and information of all concerned:
1. one member of this commitee Dr Nilima Kshirsagar is from Pharmacology and thats why they have tried to strengthen Pharmacology, please take into consideration this fact while sending any representation
2. The chairman of this commitee is from CMC Vellore which is not having forensic medicine department since decades neither they want it to be devloped so as to get rid of medicolegal autopsy work
3.Not only forensic experts need to raise thier voice but also the surgeons ,gynaecologists also must be apprised as it may be thrusted upon them which they will never be able to do justice with case.they should also be told that half of the time they will be sitting in the court. The rejection from both these fora will also strengthen our case. Prsently the President of ASI is probably from Chennai; someone from that region may contact him and get thier reprsentation also on urgent basis. Not only that thier state associations are alos very active and representations from thier fora also should be made.
4.The projected shortage of FM teachers as per table 3 is grossly wrong since as per the recommended strength FM teachers are almost half of other subjects; the table mentions the equal requirement. Further it shows only 500 working strngth of FM whereas per thier own accounts they mentin 1493 FM teachers; that means thier is no shortage of fm faculty so the logic which they have given for reduction is flimsy.
5. Similarly the projected need also is wrong if we talk about the taeching strength only
5. Similarly the projected need also is wrong if we talk about the taeching strength only
6. Not only that names of so many faculty are missing from their official website records that means actually there are still more number of FM faculty.
7. Please specify paper 2 reg Clinical FM i.e. wht topics are to be included in it. what about F Psychitary. Jurisprudence whether in paper i or 2
I request the forensic faculty from Karnataka kerala tamilnadu andhra. pudicherry states to verify with website collegewise and let me know how many numbers ( names also) from thier respetive colleges are missing from the website. It will help me in preparation of proper database and actual shortage if any at present in context of 1999 MCI guidelines.
I hope with inputs from all of you we will be able to condemn this vision document which is looking like a bundle of lies and only detrimental to FM in first stance
An earliest action and response is awaited
With regards
Dr. Adarsh Kumar
